This Fresh Strawberry Buttercream Frosting is smooth and creamy with a mild strawberry flavor. The pale pink color is all natural from the fresh strawberries that we use to make this!

Heat the strawberries and the granulated sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5-8 minutes.

The strawberries will appear chunky yet syrupy...that's normal.

Set a mesh colander over a bowl. Pour the strawberry liquid through the strainer.

Set the strawberry liquid aside to let cool.

Beat butter or vegan baking stick until creamy. Slowly beat in the confectioners' sugar, water, salt and cooled strawberry liquid until smooth and combined.

Store the buttercream in a bowl covered with plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge, for up to 4 days.

You can freeze the frosting for up to one month in a freezer safe airtight container. To defrost, put in the fridge the night before and rewhip when ready to use,
