These Puff Pastry with Chocolate are just as incredible as they sound. Golden, delicious and flaky exterior filled with melt in your mouth chocolate and brown sugar. These babies taste best served warm so serve right away or pop in the microwave for a few seconds to reheat! They're gluten free, nut free, egg free and easily vegan!
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
Take your homemade puff pastry out of the fridge or if you’re using frozen, thaw according to the instructions on the box.
Lightly dust a clean work surface with gluten free flour. If using homemade puff pastry, roll it out into an 11 inch circle. If using frozen, take your 11x11 inch rectangle and trim the edges so that you make a circle.
Once you have a circle, using a pizza cutter or a knife, cut your circle like a pizza. I cut mine into 8 triangular slices.
Separate your slices from one another. Gently sprinkle the brown sugar on each of the 8 slices.
Then sprinkle the chocolate chips onto each triangular slice. You don’t want to have the chips go to the edges because they will prevent you from rolling the pastry. Try to keep them in the center.
Roll the triangles up starting at the wide end. Roll away from you and gently press the triangle point down into the roll to seal shut.
Place your rolls on a baking sheet. In a small bowl mix the maple syrup and water together. Brush the mixture on top of each chocolate puff pastry roll. This is essentially your vegan egg wash. Bake for 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown.
Place 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl and heat in 15 second increments, stirring after each time, until melted. Drizzle on top of your Chocolate Pastry Rolls and enjoy!
