This Strawberry Syrup is sweet, smooth, delicious and so simple to make! With only 3 ingredients, it only takes 30 minutes to make from start to finish! It is the perfect syrup to drizzle on top of pancakes, waffles, French Toast, ice cream and the perfect addition to sparkling water or lemonade! It's naturally gluten free, nut free, egg free, dairy free and can easily be vegan with the use of vegan sugar!
Place the 4 cups quartered and hulled strawberries, ¾ cup granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons orange juice in a medium saucepan.
Mix it all together and set over medium heat, smashing the strawberries with the back of a spoon.
Cook, stirring constantly until it begins to boil. About 5 minutes.
Once boiling, turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
After 15 minutes it should look liquidy but syrupy. Remove from heat and immediately pour through a mesh colander or sieve into heat safe bowl.
Let come to room temperature on the counter. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate.
