These Puff Pastry with Chocolate are just as incredible as they sound. Golden, delicious and flaky exterior filled with melt in your mouth chocolate and brown sugar. These babies taste best served warm so serve right away or pop in the microwave for a few seconds to reheat! They're gluten free, nut free, egg free and easily vegan!

Four gluten free Puff Pastries with Chocolate drizzled in chocolate.

Ok so, we already talked about homemade gluten free puff pastry and how it is super delicious and amazing. The recipe really isn’t super intense and I so believe using homemade puff pastry makes a huge difference.

With that said, you could of course use a gluten free frozen puff pastry if you prefer. At any rate, these rolls are super easy to make.

For some more baked goodness, try my Apple Turnovers with Raspberry Glaze, Jumbo Apple Cinnamon Muffins and my Chocolate Cobbler.

    Circle Time!

Take your homemade puff pastry out of the fridge or if you’re using frozen, thaw according to the instructions on the box.

You are going to want to lightly dust a clean work surface with gluten free flour. If using homemade puff pastry, we are going to roll it out into an 11 inch circle. If you’re using frozen, take your 11x11 inch rectangle and trim the edges so that you make a circle.

Once you have a circle, using a pizza cutter or a knife, cut your circle like a pizza. I cut mine into 8 triangular slices.

We are then going to separate your slices from one another. Gently sprinkle the brown sugar on each of the 8 slices. It’s ok if you go to the edges of the slice with the sugar.

Next, sprinkle the chocolate chips onto each triangular slice. You don’t want to have the chips go to the edges because they will prevent you from rolling the pastry. Try to keep them in the center.

Five gluten free Puff Pastries with Chocolate drizzled in chocolate.

    Let’s get rolling!

Roll the triangles up starting at the wide end. Roll away from you and gently press the triangle point down into the roll to seal shut.

Place your rolls on a baking sheet. In a small bowl mix the maple syrup and water together. Brush the mixture on top of each chocolate puff pastry roll. This is essentially your vegan egg wash. Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown.

Now you could serve them like this but I like to take it one tiny step further and melt some chocolate to drizzle on top of each roll.

If you’d like to do that too, place 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl and heat in 15 second increments, stirring after each time, until melted. Drizzle on top of your Chocolate Pastry Rolls and that’s it!

Like I said at the start, these are best served warm so either enjoy them right away or microwave them for a few seconds to reheat. You don’t have to do that BUT when they’re warm the chocolatey inside gets all gooey and delicious.

These gluten free Puff Pastry with Chocolate are so addicting and so so simple to make; you’ll be making them again and again! Enjoy!
