These Chocolate Nonpareils are the easiest chocolate candy recipe ever! With just two ingredients, they take minutes to make and only take about 7-10 minutes to chill until firm! They're better than the ones at the chocolate shop and they're gluten free, nut free, egg free and dairy free!

Chocolate Nonpareils were my favorite chocolate candy growing up and still are my favorite to this day! Sadly, it has been impossible for me to find allergy safe ones for my kids. Even the movie theater Sno-Caps say, "may contain peanut." So, I decided to make my own and let me tell you...these are better than any others I have tasted!

Reasons to Love These Chocolate Nonpareils
- Allergy Friendly- These chocolate candies are gluten free, nut free, egg free and dairy free!
- Great Gift Idea- These chocolates are the perfect gift for the holiday season Valentine's Day, birthdays or even bake sales!
- Easy to Make- Just two ingredients make this amazingly easy chocolate recipe!
Ingredient Notes

- Chocolate Chips- To make vegan, make sure to use gluten free/vegan chocolate chips. I love these allergy friendly chocolate chips.
- Rainbow Nonpareils- I use these rainbow nonpareils because the Betty Crocker website currently states that they're gluten free and made on a dedicated line that doesn't process peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, milk or eggs. The facility does process soy. Please always double check package labels and company websites as companies can change their ingredients and policies at any time. They don't have a vegan label so use vegan certified ones if vegan.

Substitutions and Variations
How to Make these into Vegan Chocolate Candies
- Only use vegan chocolate. The brand I use is gluten free and vegan.
- Make sure to buy vegan nonpareils. It looks like the brand Sweetapolita's Natural Nonpareils are gluten free and vegan and made with plant derived colorants. According to the website, they are gluten free, vegan, nut free, soy free and kosher, although they are not certified gluten free. Please always read labels as companies can change their policies at any time.
For Smaller Nonpareils
- Use a tiny tip (4 if using Wilton's) in a piping bag.
- Make tiny dots with the chocolate, the size of a pea to create a candy like Sno-Caps.

How to Make Chocolate Nonpareils
Here are the step by step instructions to make these homemade chocolate candies!

Step 1: Prepare the Nonpareil Sprinkles
Pour the nonpareil sprinkles onto a baking sheet or pan lined with wax paper.

Step 2: Melt the Chocolate
Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 15 second increments until melted and smooth.

Step 3: Dollop the Chocolate and Refrigerate or Freeze
Either use a small spoon to dollop the chocolate into the nonpareil sprinkles or use a piping bag.
Pop the baking tray or pan into the fridge or freezer for about 7-10 minutes until the chocolate is firm.

Step 4: Serve
Take out of the fridge or freezer and flip the hardened chocolates over so the sprinkle side is up and enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Use Wax Paper- This way the nonpareils and chocolates won't get stuck to the baking dish or sheet if your layer of nonpareils was too thin.
- Melt the Chocolate Slowly- Make sure to melt the chocolate chips in a heat safe bowl in the microwave in 15 second increments, stirring after each time. I know it takes way longer this way but if you put the chips in for 30 seconds, the chocolate will seize up and not be a liquid.
- Use Extra Nonpareil Sprinkles- Feel free to use a fill cup of sprinkles to be able to make more nonpareil candies at once.
- Chill the Candies- After dolloping, chill the candies so they don't ooze into a shape other than a circle.
Recipe FAQs
Yes! You can use semi-sweet, dark, milk, white, etc. Also feel free to use good quality chocolate. We use allergy friendly due to the allergens in our home. If using good quality chocolate, make sure to chop it up prior to microwaving.
I do, but only for making more nonpareils. Pick any chocolate pieces out, place sprinkles into a zip top bag and then reuse when making more. I wouldn't save them more than a month though.
Place solidified nonpareils into a food safe cellophane bag and tie with a pretty ribbon.
Or place them into food safe glass jars and tie a ribbon around the lid.
Store the nonpareils in a zip top bag or airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days.
