Ingredient Notes

- Chocolate Chips- To make vegan, make sure to use gluten free/vegan chocolate chips. I love these allergy friendly chocolate chips.
- Marshmallows- I like to use 10 ounces of mini marshmallows. I find they melt more evenly, especially with vegan marshmallows. I use the same ones in my Chocolate Chip Marshmallow Cookies.
- Gluten Free Graham Crackers- I use these gf/vegan graham crackers but feel free to use whatever brand you desire.
See my recipe card below for a complete list of the ingredients with measurements.
Substitutions and Variations
How to Ensure this Easy Dessert Dip is Vegan
- Make sure the chocolate chips you use are vegan.
- Use vegan Marshmallows like the Dandies brand.
- Only use gluten free Graham Crackers that are also vegan.
Using a Hershey Bar instead of Chocolate Chips
- Break the Hershey Bar into pieces to cover the bottom of the baking dish. You will need multiple bars.
- There is one size of the Hershey bar that is gluten free, nut free and safe for those with nut allergies. It’s the 1.55 oz (43g) bar but always double check the label as companies can change ingredients at any time.
- Hershey always lists if there are any potential allergens. The bars of that size do contain milk and soy; if there are allergies make sure to use allergy friendly chocolate instead like this.
For Regular Non-Vegan/Gluten Free Marshmallows
- Use the same amount of marshmallows.
- Bake the dip for less time as non vegan marshmallows tend to melt and faster.

Expert Baking Tips
- Cover the Bottom of the Dish: Cover the entire bottom of the baking dish with chocolate chips as this ensures the chocolate melts evenly and there is an equal amount of chocolate in every bite!
- Add an Even Layer of Marshmallows: Make sure the layer of marshamllows is even so they melt evenly.
- Reheating: To reheat, cover baking dish with foil to prevent burning and pop back in the 425 degree oven for a few minutes until everything is all gooey again. Do not microwave. The marshmallows just expand and heat in seconds while the chocolate will still be a solid rock.
